Wrecked

My little green Camry is gone. I was in an accident yesterday while driving to work around 1pm that left it totaled. I am still a little shaken by the whole thing and it kind of threw some kinks into our life, but I am ok and it wasn't my fault.
I was driving down Preston (two lanes going my direction--I was in the left) and was about to pass by Knight, which intersects it. The traffic on Knight has a stop sign, but Preston does not. I think there was a car to my right that was slowing down to turn onto Knight, and there was a red Corvette sitting at the stop sign on Knight, wanting to turn left onto Preston. I guess he didn't see me because he pulled out right as I was about to pass him. I hit the brakes and the horn, but he kept coming and hit the right side of my car. My car started to spin and the back left side hit a pole holding a street sign in the median. I think I then hit the curb on the left side, blowing out my back tire and sending me across to the right side of the road, perpendicular to the flow of traffic. (Thank goodness there weren't any cars coming!) I saw that I was heading straight for a huge pole and remember thinking, "I am about to hit a pole. When people hit poles, they die. Oh. My. Gosh. I am about to die." It was the most scary thought I have ever had. I hit the pole and knocked it clean over, causing it to fall away from my car. (Again, thank goodness!!) Within seconds of my car coming to a halt, I then remember thinking, "I'm ok. I'm ok. Alright, get out of the car! Fast!" I smelled something weird and just thought that my car might blow up. Now I know it was the "air bag dust." Or whatever it's called. A man in a truck on the other side of the road pulled over, got out of the car and asked if I was ok and if I wanted him to call 911. I shakily said yes. I figured by that time that my car was probably fine, so I opened to door real quick and grabbed my phone to call Nathan and then Herb. Nathan showed up a few minutes later, right after the police came. The older man in the Corvette was kind of talking to me, telling me how sorry he was and how he had just had his paint job redone last week. He seemed a little weird. I had to fill out a report and by that time, Herb had decided to come check on me. A few minutes later, Goody was driving by, saw me and Herb, and pulled over. She begged me to sit in her car with the AC on for a few minutes (it was SO hot!) and offered to drive me to the clinic to get checked out. I only had/have a bruise on my wrist and a scrape on the underside of my forearm. Right after that, Meagan drove by on her way back to work and pulled over as well. I must say, I sure did feel a lot of love from our church family/my co-workers. It's nice to know you are cared for : ) After they (the 3! police cars) finished up and we had all my stuff out of my car, I was free to go. Herb told me to just go home, but I had work that had to be done before this morning so I went home for like 2 hours and then Meagan came and picked me up and took me back to work. In the meantime, Nathan called and handled all of the insurance stuff. I was so grateful for that! So now we are looking at getting a rental car for me since the insurance will pay for it, and then once everything is finalized, buying a car. I'm not sure what we will end up getting. We were supposed to take my car to Germany and sell Nathan's car. We are still selling Nathan's car, but now we aren't sure what kind of replacement we should get for mine. As of right now, I just can't handle thinking about it. I feel completely physically and emotionally exhausted. Part of that was due to a stressful and very busy day at work today. But I know a lot of it has to do with my body feeling the affects of the wreck and me needing to deal a little more with the seriousness of the whole situation. I still can't really fathom that I was just in a bad wreck and that it's a miracle I walked away without any scratches. My God is so merciful and so good all of the time!
Here are some pictures Nathan took of my car. He took them for insurance purposes. Little did he know that I would now be using them to show you all : )

The ride side, where the Corvette hit me. That's me and Herb on the other side of the car.

Where I hit the street sign pole and blew out my tire.

Where I hit the light pole and the fallen light pole itself.

More of where I hit the light pole, plus my shattered windshield.
