In the Air Force, Nathan has the opportunity to get his Master in Meteorology by receiving an assignment at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS), which has been located in Monterey, CA. So, we have often imagined ourselves living on the gorgeous coast of California, probably in a tiny apartment, while Nathan gets paid to earn his master's.
Well... we found out somewhat recently the Air Force has discontinued renting space from the Navy in Monterey and has moved the whole graduate program to Wright-Patterson AFB in Ohio, joining the rest of Air Force education. We were a little bummed to hear that, but then we were excited to possibly be a few hours away from Grandma Motz, Aunt Melena and her family in Cleveland. So, we then began imagining ourselves in Ohio.
And thus, Monterey became Ohio.
Well... then, we found out that the meteorology degrees are not only offered at Wright-Patterson. They have a partnership with colleges in other states and from what we understand right now, those colleges include Creighton in Nebraska, Texas A&M, North Carolina State and one in Florida.
And thus, Ohio became the U.S.
