Back In the Land of Wal-Mart & Fast Food

June 9th: Continued from here... After arriving in Houston on time, being disturbed by the extremely flat land surrounding us, and having our plane delayed again due to weather, we arrived in San Antonio at 7pm. Mom and Dad picked us up, then we stopped at Chester's to pick up dinner. Mmmm. Nathan went straight to bed after eating and I stayed up a little longer with Mom, Dad, Allison, Matt and Dylan, Allison's boyfriend.
June 10th: I drove our new car (that Dad had purchased for us while we were still in Europe) to get breakfast tacos with Mom. It was super weird driving in America again. In Germany, the lanes are much smaller and there is almost always only one way to exit a parking lot. It totally threw me off when Mom said, "You can go out there. Or there. Or there. Or there." What?! That afternoon, we order Papa John's pizza and Nathan watched the Portugal game against Croatia. Afterwards, Matt, Nathan and I visited Grandma. It was so good to see her, but also really hard. Things are definitely different than when we left just 2.5 years ago. We stopped in at AT&T after to get new phones with Sacramento numbers. Holla! Then, we were off to LaCantera to shop for some much needed items like clothing and electronics. We then met up with Dad, Matt, Allison and Dylan at Pappasito's for dinner. Mom couldn't join us because she was leading Bible study at church. Back at home, we opened a bottle of wine and watched Les Mis since Nathan and I hadn't been able to see it. Unfortunately, jet lag had us falling asleep halfway through.
June 11th: I met Sasha and Esther at Chick-fil-A for lunch. It was so good to see her! Then, Mom, Allison and I stopped by Grandma's house to see if we could find the shirts Matt and I used to sleep in when we would spend the night at Grandma & Grandpa's. One of them is from Lake Tahoe, so I thought it would be neat to keep it, but we had no luck finding it. For dinner, we feasted on grilled chicken, sausage, Dad Fries, jalapeno chicken poppers, corn, broccoli, bread, and sangria. Before crashing out, we watched some of the Spurs game and played Wits & Wagers.
June 12th: We packed up the car and left San Antonio at 7:30am to drive to Abilene. Grandma Motz was visiting and it was good to see her since we hadn't seen her since leaving for Germany. After eating lunch, Nathan worked outside taking care of the plants. For dinner, he met up with his friends Brandon and Ryan at Little Italy and I stopped by to see Chad and Tressie before meeting Hailey and Heather at Olive Garden.
June 13th: Nathan rode bikes with his dad at ACU and then we all went to eat lunch at Mr. Gatti's. I finally got Nathan to admit it's not the best pizza now that he's had real Italian pizza. He just likes it for the nostalgia. Me too : ) Nathan got a haircut and we picked up ingredients for me to bake chocolate chops cookies that night. After taking a nap, we all went to dinner at Lytle. Yum. Can you tell we've missed certain food places? After dinner, we played Bocci ball in the yard and I made cookies.
June 14th: We packed up the car early in the morning yet again and left Abilene, headed for California.
